Codonics, a global leader in healthcare technology, has developed an innovative medication safety system installed in over 16,000 operating rooms across more than 1,000 hospitals. This system integrates barcode scanning with visual and audible electronic safety checks, ensuring that clinicians consistently select the correct medication, thus helping to eliminate labeling errors during medication preparation.
In a move to further enhance safety in the operating room, Codonics has partnered with Intelliguard, a leader in RFID-enabled medication management solutions. The collaboration combines Codonics’ Safe Label System (SLS) with Intelliguard’s flagship Mira Care Station. This integration allows clinicians a fast, simple, and secure way to address the three most common medication errors in the OR: vial and ampoule swaps, mislabeling, and syringe swaps.
