Concentra®, a leading provider of occupational medicine, has announced the introduction of its new behavioral health service on Concentra Telemed®, the company’s telemedicine platform for workers’ compensation.
Concentra® has introduced a behavioral health service to its Concentra Telemed® platform, enhancing the workers’ compensation process. As employers increasingly recognize the impact of mental and emotional well-being on productivity and recovery, Concentra aims to provide access to mental health professionals who can address the psychological effects of work-related injuries. The new service seeks to reduce barriers to care and improve patient outcomes.
Mike Rhine, Concentra’s executive vice president and COO of onsite health and telemedicine, expressed enthusiasm about this expansion, noting it offers employers and employees greater access to specialized care from experts in workers’ compensation.
The service includes licensed psychologists with PSYPACT affiliation, who will offer mental health assessments, treatment for work-related mental health conditions, and counseling for non-physical injuries like PTSD. These psychologists will work closely with other clinicians to ensure that behavioral health interventions align with return-to-work plans, enhancing overall recovery.
Lisa Figueroa, MD, Concentra’s vice president of medical operations and national medical director of telemedicine, emphasized the importance of timely mental health care to help workers return to both work and daily life.
Jim Harvey, Concentra’s vice president of telemedicine operations, highlighted the goal of reducing wait times for care, which will improve outcomes for patients and their families.
Currently, behavioral health telemedicine is available in select states, with plans for further expansion as Concentra Telemed® grows. For updates on state availability, click here.
