Today, Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH) announced the commencement of construction for a new 350,000 square-foot logistics center in Columbus, Ohio. This center will serve as a centralized replenishment hub for distributing over-the-counter consumer health products in support of its core pharmaceutical business.
Situated in the Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park, the Consumer Health Logistics Center will become the fourth Cardinal Health distribution facility in Central Ohio, joining its corporate headquarters in Dublin, Ohio. Expected to be fully operational by Summer 2025, the facility will generate around 100 new jobs in Ohio.
Debbie Weitzman, CEO of Pharmaceutical & Specialty Solutions at Cardinal Health, noted the significant growth in demand for consumer health products over the past five years. She highlighted that the new Consumer Health Logistics Center will meet customers’ needs for affordable, reliable, and comprehensive options of over-the-counter medications, treatments, and diagnostic solutions.
The introduction of advanced inventory management systems in the Consumer Health Logistics Center will enhance supply chain resilience, providing customers with a wider range of product choices. This investment demonstrates Cardinal Health’s commitment to delivering dependable and efficient healthcare solutions by improving speed, convenience, and reliability.
