At the ESTRO Annual Meeting in Glasgow, Scotland, from May 3-6, Sun Nuclear, a Mirion Medical company, will showcase improved Quality Management solutions. Visit booth #930 to explore demos and insights on the latest SunCHECK® Platform Version 5.0 and enhancements to the comprehensive Sun Nuclear quality management portfolio, alongside products from other Mirion brands dedicated to cancer care.
The ESTRO Annual Meeting this year centers around the theme “Bridging the Care Gap,” emphasizing the collective effort to ensure optimal radiotherapy provision. Sun Nuclear will showcase solutions that enhance workflow efficiency, provide early insights into treatment quality, and facilitate proactive delivery system quality assessment. The expanded solutions will be highlighted on Sunday, May 5, during a lunch symposium titled “A Brighter Path to Higher Quality,” featuring a welcome from Tom Logan, CEO of Mirion and acting Mirion Medical President.
Debut of SunCHECK v5.0
Sun Nuclear will prominently feature the newly announced SunCHECK v5.0 solution, offering daily presentations and in-depth demonstrations at the booth. This update integrates SunCHECK users and radiation treatment workflows more effectively, incorporating advanced treatment plan assessment tools, increased integration with linac treatment planning systems (TPS) and oncology information systems (OIS), expanded QA device control, and a refreshed user interface. Attendees are invited to explore these features and experience how the software enhances clinic efficiency and quality.
New for Surface-Guided Radiation Therapy QA
The AVa™ Phantom (Alignment Verification accessory) will debut at ESTRO, extending the use of StereoPHAN™ and SRS MapCHECK® solutions for surface-guided radiation therapy (SGRT) applications. This rigid accessory mimics human facial and cranial features, enabling comprehensive tracking for increased confidence in clinical delivery.
Enhancements for Machine QA & Motion Management
Continuous updates to SunDOSE™ software for commissioning and machine quality, including TPS Dose Comparison and Live Scan QA functionalities, offer users faster insight into treatment planning system model accuracy and proactive alerts if scan parameters are incorrect or changes in the delivery machine are detected. The software will be featured during daily SunSCAN™ 3D water scanning system demonstrations. For motion management, the Dynamic Thorax Phantom now offers a deformable-surface accessory for deviceless 4D CT system QA.
Luis Rivera, Sun Nuclear Radiation Therapy QA President, expressed excitement about presenting a comprehensive suite of solutions for radiation therapy teams at ESTRO, including the investments made in the SunCHECK Platform with version 5.0. He looks forward to exchanging ideas on best practices and new innovations that support more efficient clinical workflows and advanced patient care throughout the meeting.
