A global healthcare company is set to host its inaugural ThinkLive Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) Summit, bringing together leaders from the healthcare and biopharmaceutical industries to delve into the latest advancements in the CGT sector and strategies to expedite product commercialization and enhance patient access.
Scheduled to take place over two days starting May 14, the virtual event will encompass panel discussions and presentations covering pivotal topics and considerations throughout the commercialization journey. These include clinical manufacturing, channel strategy, solutions for efficient global launches, navigating unique supply chain requirements, and overcoming barriers along the patient journey. The summit will feature insights from various leaders, including experts from companies with launched or in-development CGTs, representatives from patient advocacy groups, trade associations, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Lung-I Cheng, Vice President and Head of Cell & Gene Therapy Service Line at the hosting company, emphasized the complexity of the path to commercialization in the evolving CGT landscape. The summit aims to foster collaboration and promote best practices that support the development and commercialization of groundbreaking therapies, ensuring they reach the patients who need them.
With nearly 2,000 CGT clinical trials underway globally, according to the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine (ARM), and anticipated regulatory decisions on CGTs in 2024, the summit will explore strategies to surmount barriers at each stage of the product lifecycle. Additionally, ARM’s Chief Operating Officer, Rita Johnson-Greene, will engage in a fireside chat to reflect on progress over the past five years and offer insights into future developments.
As a leader in specialty distribution and services, the hosting company provides comprehensive support to CGT developers throughout the product lifecycle. Services include third-party logistics, regulatory consulting, market access, clinical trial and commercial distribution, and patient support services. Through its CGT Integration Hub, the company connects provider-facing platforms with patient services support programs, streamlining the therapy development and delivery process.
Willis Chandler, President of Global Pharma Services at the hosting company, expressed optimism about the future of the CGT market and reiterated the company’s commitment to providing enhanced support to developers. Launching the summit underscores their belief in the potential of cell and gene therapies and their dedication to fostering a more connected CGT ecosystem.
