AndHealth Teams Up with PrimaryOne Health to Tackle Health Inequities Through In-House Specialty Care

“AndHealth Teams Up with PrimaryOne Health to Expand Specialty Care Access and Address Health Inequities”

AndHealth and PrimaryOne Health have joined forces to offer in-house specialty care to their communities. PrimaryOne Health, known as the oldest and largest Community Health Center (CHC) in central Ohio, will now provide dermatology, rheumatology, and neurology services, including treatment for conditions like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and headache and migraine.

Since 1997, PrimaryOne Health has been delivering comprehensive care to medically underserved communities, offering primary care, OB/GYN, dental, vision, behavioral health, and pediatrics. With this partnership, they’re enhancing their services by integrating high-quality and affordable specialty care. This approach addresses the root causes of health issues, including Social Drivers of Health (SDoH), and ensures patients receive holistic care directly within their medical home.

Charleta B. Tavares, CEO of PrimaryOne Health, expressed pride in the partnership, highlighting its role in expanding clinical capabilities and breaking down barriers to specialty care access. Recognizing the importance of treating the whole person, Tavares emphasized the partnership’s ability to provide culturally appropriate and convenient care to patients.

Specialty care is crucial for patients, but it’s often out of reach due to cost and logistical barriers. AndHealth addresses this challenge by offering fully integrated, in-house specialty care and pharmacy solutions to CHCs. This approach allows patients to receive care within their existing fee schedules, with options for virtual and on-site appointments. It’s an economically sustainable model that leads to better outcomes, lower costs, and increased patient access.

Matt Scantland, Founder and CEO of AndHealth, expressed pride in partnering with PrimaryOne Health to provide accessible and high-quality specialty care. Recognizing health as a human right, Scantland emphasized the importance of expanding access to care and building on PrimaryOne Health’s legacy of advancing health equity.

Together, AndHealth and PrimaryOne Health are working to ensure all patients receive the care they need to lead healthy lives and address health disparities in their communities.”
