WellSky® Acquires Bonafide® to Enhance Home Medical Equipment Solutions

WellSky, a prominent technology company in health and community care, has announced its acquisition of Bonafide, a software solution designed for durable medical equipment (DME) and home medical equipment (HME) providers. This acquisition enhances WellSky’s presence in the DME/HME sector, allowing the company to offer a more integrated software platform that helps providers operate compliantly, efficiently, and profitably.

The DME/HME sector is rapidly expanding in the healthcare industry, fueled by the rising demand for patient-centered home care. Bonafide has developed a comprehensive enterprise workflow management platform that integrates billing, revenue cycle management, resupply, supply chain, inventory management, and mobile delivery, helping DME/HME providers drive growth. Currently, Bonafide serves 200 clients, including some of the largest providers in the field.

“With the increase in chronic conditions, an aging population, and a focus on patient-directed care, the need for quality home healthcare solutions has never been greater,” said WellSky Chairman and CEO Bill Miller. “I’m excited to welcome Bonafide to WellSky. Together, we will support this growing market with a full suite of WellSky solutions and tech-enabled services to better collaborate and achieve successful outcomes for complex patient populations.”

Bonafide’s platform fully integrates purchasing, inventory management, order processing, document management, patient communication, and analytics within a user-friendly interface. The merger of WellSky and Bonafide will empower more DME/HME companies to enhance operations, streamline processes, and navigate industry challenges effectively.

“Since our founding over 40 years ago, Bonafide has been dedicated to providing top-tier technology to the DME/HME sector,” said Mark Ludwig, CEO of Bonafide. “By partnering with WellSky, we enter an exciting new phase that will allow us to expand our capabilities and deliver greater value to our clients.”

WellSky’s home infusion and health solutions complement Bonafide’s expertise, and the two companies plan to invest further in services, analytics, and interoperability to improve care delivery and financial performance. WellSky also offers access to a network of over 2,000 hospitals and 130,000 providers, enhancing visibility for Bonafide clients. In the past year, WellSky’s hospital discharge solutions facilitated over one million referrals to HME/DME providers.

Ludwig will continue to lead Bonafide, and clients will experience no immediate changes in services or support. WellSky and Bonafide are committed to introducing further innovations within the software platform and expanding offerings to support client success.

IKONA Partners acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Bonafide in this transaction.
