CVS Pharmacy® (NYSE: CVS) has announced that the updated 2024-2025 flu and COVID-19 vaccines are now available at CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic® locations nationwide. Patients can walk in for a vaccination or use the updated digital scheduler to book an appointment online at CVS.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that individuals ages six months and older receive the updated vaccines ideally in September or October to ensure optimal protection against the latest virus variants. It is advised to get both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines simultaneously if eligible.
“Preventive vaccinations are essential for protecting your family and community from seasonal illnesses,” said Dr. Sree Chaguturu, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at CVS Health®. “With thousands of CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic locations nationwide, we make it easy for people to stay up to date with their vaccinations.”
Patients can walk in to any CVS Pharmacy for a vaccine or schedule an appointment in advance through CVS.com or the CVS Pharmacy app. The updated scheduling tool allows for easy booking of multiple appointments for family members or caregivers at the same time, and also enables scheduling of various vaccines in a single visit.
“Our improved digital scheduling tool simplifies the appointment process, making it easier for families to book vaccinations and manage their health,” said Prem Shah, Executive Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer at CVS Health, and President of Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness.
Vaccination appointments are available at CVS Pharmacy locations, including those inside Target and Schnucks, and at MinuteClinic seven days a week, including evenings and weekends. MinuteClinic also offers sick visits with testing for flu, COVID-19, and strep throat if needed. Information on testing and appointments can be found at MinuteClinic.com and CVS.com.
CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic provide over 15 common vaccinations, including flu, COVID-19, RSV, shingles, and hepatitis B. Patients who receive any CDC-recommended vaccine at CVS Pharmacy will receive a $5 discount on in-store purchases of $20 or more. ExtraCare members who opt into rewards will also earn $2 in ExtraBucks Rewards® for each CDC-recommended vaccine. Most flu and COVID-19 vaccines are covered at no cost with insurance plans, including Medicare Part B. Costs for other vaccines may vary by insurance.
