Carenet Health Inaugurates New Global Delivery Center in Trinidad & Tobago with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Carenet Health, a leading provider of tech-enabled healthcare engagement solutions, hosted a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially inaugurate its new state-of-the-art global delivery center in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Though the facility has been operational since January 2025, the ceremonial event marked a significant milestone in the company’s international growth and long-term strategy to better support healthcare organizations worldwide.

The celebration was attended by an esteemed group of government dignitaries and industry stakeholders, reflecting the strong local and national support for this initiative. Among those present were Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Trade and Industry; Mr. Randall Karim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Trade and Industry; Mrs. Franka Costello, Chairman of Global Trinidad and Tobago; and Ms. Joann David, Director of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) Division within the Ministry of Labour. Their presence signaled the importance of this development not only for Carenet, but for the wider economic and employment landscape in the region.

Carenet’s Trinidad and Tobago location is its first to be designated within a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), positioning it as a pioneering project in the country’s drive to attract international investment through innovative frameworks. The ribbon-cutting ceremony not only celebrated the formal launch of the facility, but also underscored its significance as a cornerstone of Carenet’s broader global delivery network.

“This expansion into Trinidad and Tobago represents a key step in our mission to support over 500 healthcare clients with scalable, geo-diverse solutions,” said John Erwin, Chief Executive Officer of Carenet Health. “By tapping into the talent and resources available in Trinidad and Tobago, we are enhancing our ability to deliver exceptional healthcare engagement services while continuing to drive measurable improvements in both business performance and patient outcomes.”

The new facility is set to initially create 250 skilled roles for healthcare advisors, representing a significant boost to the local job market. These positions will focus on delivering high-quality, personalized engagement to patients and health plan members on behalf of Carenet’s clients across the United States. As demand grows, Carenet anticipates expanding its local workforce further in the coming years.

Christopher Rogers, Chief Operating Officer of Carenet Health, highlighted the collaborative effort required to bring this facility online. “Partnering with the government, local agencies, and the talented people of Trinidad and Tobago has been instrumental to our success. We’re not just investing in infrastructure – we’re investing in people, in potential, and in shared growth.”

Senator Gopee-Scoon also addressed attendees at the event, expressing her enthusiasm for the opportunities this new center will generate. She emphasized the facility’s role in supporting economic diversification, strengthening Trinidad and Tobago’s reputation as a destination for business process outsourcing (BPO), and increasing high-value employment opportunities for the local workforce.

Following the formal proceedings, attendees gathered on the rooftop of the facility for a cocktail reception. The relaxed setting provided a chance for stakeholders to network and celebrate the successful launch in a festive atmosphere, overlooking the vibrant cityscape of Port of Spain.

Carenet’s entry into Trinidad and Tobago also represents a broader trend among healthcare service providers to adopt “right-shoring” strategies. This approach combines cost-efficiency with access to skilled talent in strategic global locations, enabling companies to provide seamless support for their clients while staying responsive to industry changes.

The Port of Spain facility enhances Carenet’s operational resilience by adding to its global footprint and ensuring continuous service delivery across time zones. With advanced infrastructure, comprehensive training programs, and a deep commitment to excellence, this new center is poised to become a flagship location within Carenet’s network.

Ultimately, the opening of the Trinidad and Tobago global delivery center reflects Carenet Health’s unwavering dedication to innovation, partnership, and delivering meaningful results for clients, patients, and communities alike.
