SilverSummit Healthplan, a Centene Subsidiary, Secures Nevada Medicaid Contract

Centene’s SilverSummit Healthplan Selected to Expand Nevada Medicaid Managed Care Services

Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), a leading healthcare enterprise dedicated to improving health outcomes, announced today that its Nevada subsidiary, SilverSummit Healthplan, Inc. (SilverSummit), has been chosen by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services to provide services under the state’s Medicaid managed care program.

For the first time, this program will expand to include Medicaid Managed Care services in Nevada’s rural and frontier regions, which were previously served through a fee-for-service model. Pending state approval, the new five-year contract is set to begin on January 1, 2026, with an optional two-year extension.

“We’re honored by the opportunity to expand access to affordable, high-quality care throughout Nevada,” said Sarah London, Chief Executive Officer of Centene. “By strengthening our relationships with local providers and community partners, we’re committed to delivering personalized healthcare solutions that align with our mission to improve community health—one person at a time.”

SilverSummit Healthplan has been serving Nevada’s Medicaid population since 2017 and currently supports over 100,000 members. Under the new agreement, SilverSummit will continue providing managed care services—including primary care, telehealth, pharmacy, maternal care, and behavioral health—while broadening its provider networks and supporting local care organizations across rural and frontier counties.

“Since receiving the Medicaid contract in 2017, SilverSummit has worked hard to help Nevadans live healthier lives,” said Eric Schmacker, President and CEO of SilverSummit Healthplan. “Serving urban, rural, and frontier communities requires tailored and inclusive healthcare strategies. We are proud to continue supporting the state, our partners, and especially our members.”

In addition to its Medicaid services, SilverSummit’s marketplace plan, Ambetter from SilverSummit HealthPlan, has also been selected by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services to participate in the state’s new public option program, the Battle Born State Plan (BBSP). Beginning January 1, 2026, the five-year BBSP contract, with a possible two-year extension, is expected to provide coverage for approximately 16,000 individuals in its first year.
