Ria Health, a national leader in telehealth treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), has announced the appointment of Dr. Martin Rosenzweig to its Board of Directors. With over 25 years of experience in managed care, psychiatric disorders, and substance use treatment, Dr. Rosenzweig previously served as Chief Medical Officer at Optum Behavioral Health. His expertise will support Ria Health’s mission to enhance access to effective, evidence-based alcohol treatment.
During his time as Chief Medical Officer at Optum Behavioral Health, Dr. Martin Rosenzweig led efforts to enhance access to quality care for individuals with psychiatric conditions, especially during the opioid crisis. His leadership in developing national medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs and advancing psychiatric disability management has established him as a prominent figure in behavioral healthcare.
“I am excited to join Ria Health’s board and support an organization making significant strides in alcohol use disorder treatment,” Dr. Rosenzweig said. “Ria Health’s innovative telehealth model and research partnerships uniquely position it to provide scalable, effective care. I look forward to contributing to its continued growth and helping more people access life-changing treatment.”
Carol Vallone, Chair of the Board at Ria Health and Chair of the Board of Trustees for McLean Hospital, expressed her enthusiasm about Dr. Rosenzweig’s appointment: “We are thrilled to have Martin on board. His extensive knowledge and experience in behavioral health, along with his dedication to improving patient care, align perfectly with Ria Health’s mission. His perspective will be invaluable as we work to make effective and compassionate alcohol treatment more accessible.”
Since its founding, Ria Health has created a medically driven, tech-enabled platform that helps individuals struggling with alcohol misuse achieve their personalized goals, whether that means reducing or abstaining from alcohol. The program features one-on-one physician and coaching support, FDA-approved medications, and tools like Bluetooth-enabled breathalyzers for progress monitoring. Recent peer-reviewed studies show that patients have reduced their alcohol consumption by 50 percent within 90 days.
“Martin’s deep expertise in behavioral health and managed care will be invaluable as we expand our services nationwide,” said Dr. John Mendelson, Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder at Ria Health. “His strategic insights will help guide us in meeting the increasing demand for accessible, evidence-based AUD treatment.”
With rising rates of alcohol misuse since the COVID-19 pandemic and 29.5 million people in the U.S. affected by AUD, Ria Health remains committed to providing compassionate and effective care. Dr. Rosenzweig’s addition to the board reinforces the company’s dedication to delivering high-quality treatment at scale.
