Parkway Shenton Opens New Clinic In CBD, Marking 50th Anniversary In Primary Care In Singapore

Parkway Shenton, Singapore’s oldest and most established
primary healthcare provider, officially opened a new primary care clinic today, marking its 50th
anniversary since the first clinic opened. Featuring a brand new look, the state-of-the-art
facility at Guoco Tower will be Parkway Shenton’s 54th clinic. It also symbolises a milestone
in Parkway Shenton’s journey as it expands its footprint to continue providing exceptional
healthcare services and promoting wellbeing within the community. The new clinic will replace
the Parkway Shenton clinic in International Plaza which has been serving the residents and
CBD workers in the area for the last 40 years.
Designed to be a calming and inclusive space where all feel welcome, the clinic’s new look
will set the benchmark for subsequent Parkway Shenton Medical Clinics as it aims to
strengthen the Parkway Shenton brand and standardise the look and feel of every clinic. The
clinic will be the second one-stop clinic under Parkway Shenton in the Central Business District
(CBD), after the centre at The Arcade. It will offer an extensive range of services such as
audiometry, optometry, spirometry, and X-rays, as well as specialised services including
diabetic retinal photography, in addition to general consultation services.
“Today, we celebrate more than the opening of our newest clinic – it’s also a recognition of
the five-decade journey of our primary care network – a pioneering network that has evolved
to meet the needs of our patients over the years. With this clinic, we will have a larger space
and an enhanced offering that will be easily accessible to the community, being in the heart of
the CBD. Patients have always been at the core of everything we do and we remain dedicated
to delivering compassionate and personalised care to our patients as we continue to grow and
expand our services around Singapore,” says Tay Wee Kai, Chief Executive Officer of
Parkway Shenton.

“As the oldest local clinic chain in Singapore, Parkway Shenton has been an important part of
our primary healthcare landscape. With clinics in both the heartlands and in the city, we have
provided Singaporeans their first line of care for the last 50 years. We are grateful for the
longstanding trust and support of our doctors, staff, patients and families. We look forward to
continue delivering innovative and patient-centric healthcare solutions as an integral part of
Healthier SG for many years to come,” says Dr Prem Kumar Nair, Chief Executive Officer of
IHH Healthcare Singapore.
In an effort to extend its support for Yellow Ribbon Singapore, Parkway Shenton also
commissioned an artwork from the Singapore Prisons Service Visual Arts Hub. The artwork, which commemorates Parkway Shenton’s 50 years in primary care, was painted by an inmate
and represents the core values of Parkway Shenton and IHH Healthcare Singapore and
showcases the importance of care in the healthcare industry. In Parkway Shenton’s corporate
colours, the artwork depicts two pairs of hands representing Care; the four elements within
them signifies IHH’s pillars of Care – for its patients, the public, the planet and its employees,
highlighting the company’s commitment to holistic care that goes beyond medical treatment.
In addition, Parkway Shenton is working with Singapore Prisons Service Visual Arts Hub to
curate and display a collection of artworks at various Parkway Shenton Medical Clinics.
Interested patients and visitors may purchase the art pieces and proceeds from the sale will
go towards the Yellow Ribbon Fund.
