On Wednesday, Feb. 14, Ambetter from Sunshine Health joined forces with the Miami Dolphins to combat food insecurity in South Florida, providing essential food assistance to local families in need.
Volunteers from Ambetter and the Miami Dolphins teamed up to provide over 500 meals to South Florida families in need at Mount Pisgah Seventh Day Adventist Church in Miami Gardens. Residents also received meal boxes containing fresh meat, produce, and pantry staples.
Miami Dolphins Vice President of Community Affairs, Kim Miller, expressed gratitude for the partnership, highlighting their joint commitment to supporting local families in Miami Gardens.
The event is part of Ambetter from Sunshine Health’s broader initiative to address social determinants of health (SDOH) and promote better health outcomes. Nathan Landsbaum, CEO of Sunshine Health, emphasized the link between food insecurity and poor health outcomes, underlining Ambetter’s dedication to community outreach and education to improve Floridians’ health.
