Agilon Health, Inc. (NYSE: AGL), a leader in empowering physicians to innovate healthcare delivery, announced today the appointment of Dr. Karthik Rao as permanent Chief Medical Officer (CMO), effective immediately. Dr. Rao, who has been serving as agilon’s interim CMO since February 2024, brings extensive experience in value-based care and a background as a practicing internal medicine physician.
Joining agilon in 2022, Dr. Rao previously held roles including Senior Medical Director and Vice President of Network Performance at the company. He will continue to co-lead agilon’s clinical strategy alongside Dr. Kevin Spencer, CCO, leveraging his expertise in clinical programs and network engagement initiatives.
Dr. Spencer, a founding agilon partner and former CEO of an independent primary care practice, brings over 25 years of experience in family medicine and value-based care. He will focus on operational excellence and support agilon’s medical directors in ensuring provider performance across agilon’s Physician Network and markets.
Both Drs.
