Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), the leading provider of health care solutions for dental and medical practitioners, has unveiled the “Prepare to Care” initiative through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, Inc. (HSCF). This program aims to enhance emergency preparedness and relief efforts by pre-positioning health care supplies and cash donations with trusted relief agency partners.
As part of this initiative, Henry Schein will provide five non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with $10,000 cash grants each and the opportunity to select $25,000 in essential health care products from the Henry Schein Brand Products catalog. These vital resources will be strategically stored in partner warehouses for rapid deployment during emergencies. The “Prepare to Care” partners include Americares, Direct Relief, Heart to Heart International, Project C.U.R.E., and Project HOPE.
“In the immediate aftermath of an emergency, every second is crucial,” said Maureen Knott, President of HSCF. “The ‘Prepare to Care’ program enhances Henry Schein’s ability to support our NGO partners and the health care professionals who deliver critical care when it’s needed most. We are grateful to our partners for collaborating with us to promote health worldwide.”
For over 20 years, Henry Schein has bolstered emergency preparedness and relief efforts globally through partnerships, product donations, and volunteerism. The company provides various resources, including preparedness and recovery guides, webinars, and a 24/7 hotline for U.S. customers (1-800-999-9729), to help health professionals prepare for and recover from natural disasters.
