Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), along with Team Schein Members (TSMs) from around the globe, is once again brightening the holiday season through its 26th annual “Holiday Cheer” program. This year, the initiative brought joy to over 1,150 individuals in need across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Since its inception in 1999, the program has touched the lives of more than 20,000 underserved children, families, and senior citizens by providing gifts such as clothing, toys, comfort items, gift cards, and more.
One of the most heartwarming events of the season was held at Henry Schein’s corporate headquarters in Melville, New York. During the “Holiday Cheer for Children” event, 100 children and their families celebrated with presents, dinner, games, and music. In addition to the festivities, the Henry Schein Cares Foundation provided 300 children with gift cards to ease the financial strain many families face during the holidays. The event was a special occasion for both the children and their families, exemplifying the spirit of giving.
“We are thrilled to once again spread holiday cheer to individuals all over the world,” said Stanley M. Bergman, Chairman and CEO of Henry Schein. “This program goes beyond being an annual tradition; it reflects Team Schein’s deep commitment to supporting our local communities. Thank you to all of Team Schein who make this program possible, bringing the spirit of giving throughout the years. We look forward to many more years of ‘Holiday Cheer’.”
To help make this possible, Henry Schein partnered with ten Long Island-based social service organizations, including Bethany House, Espoir Youth Program, Family and Children’s Association, and more, to identify children and families in need. These partnerships allowed the company to directly impact the local community, providing gifts and meals to those who might otherwise go without during the holiday season.
“Joy, compassion, and hope are woven into Henry Schein’s ‘Holiday Cheer’ program. This initiative captures the essence of the holiday spirit by funding gifts for children and meals for families,” said Karen Boorshtein, President and CEO of the Family Service League. “For decades, this program has created countless unforgettable memories for individuals struggling financially. Our thanks to Henry Schein for their generosity.”
“Holiday Cheer” looks different depending on the location, but the goal remains the same: to spread cheer and support those in need. In Ireland, the program reached pupils at Thomond Primary School, where students received gifts and enjoyed festive activities, making the season extra special for both the children and their teachers. “Thank you for your continued support and for providing this wonderful opportunity for our pupils,” said Sinéad Toomey, Principal of the Thomond Primary School. “Your generosity brings the magic of the holiday season to our school.”
The program is an important initiative of Henry Schein Cares, the company’s global corporate citizenship program, which aligns with the company’s five pillars: catalyzing healthcare access, advancing solutions, empowering Team Schein, and sustaining the planet. “Holiday Cheer” is an opportunity for Team Schein Members to give back to their communities while participating in a meaningful team-building experience.
