HeartBeam AI Shows Promising Arrhythmia Detection Results

Today, HeartBeam, Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAT), a medical technology firm dedicated to revolutionizing cardiac care with personalized insights, revealed new findings indicating significant improvements in atrial flutter detection by employing the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms on vectorcardiography (VCG). The results demonstrate comparable performance to 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs), the gold standard for diagnosing atrial flutter, marking the debut scientific presentation of HeartBeam AI’s deep learning algorithm. Vivek Reddy, MD, Director of Cardiac Arrhythmia Services at The Mount Sinai Hospital, presented the data at the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) conference in Berlin, Germany.

“In a recent study, HeartBeam AI utilizing vectorcardiography (VCG) displayed a notable 28% enhancement in detecting atrial flutter cases compared to single-lead ECGs, maintaining high specificity rates. This advancement underscores the limitations of current wearable technologies, which typically offer single-lead ECGs, limiting their ability to detect various cardiac irregularities, including atrial flutter.

HeartBeam’s core vectorelectrocardiography (3D VECG) technology, akin to VCG, captures cardiac signals in three projections (X, Y, Z) and synthesizes a 12-lead ECG. This innovation, incorporated into HeartBeam’s compact and user-friendly devices, aims to revolutionize remote cardiac monitoring. The first application of this technology, HeartBeam AIMIGo™, a portable device for home use, is currently under FDA review.
