The organization achieved more than $6 million in verified savings in fiscal year 2025 by demonstrating high contract compliance, adopting cost-saving measures, and embracing new contract categories.

This recognition reflects USA Health’s ability to maximize supply chain value while simultaneously ensuring strong operational outcomes. By focusing on efficiency, accountability, and sustainability in its supply chain strategies, USA Health has positioned itself as a model for how integrated delivery networks can generate financial stability while prioritizing patient care.

Clinical Excellence: Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) – Baton Rouge, Louisiana

FMOLHS received the Clinical Excellence Award for transforming its value analysis program into a clinician-led, evidence-based framework. By engaging clinicians from multiple disciplines and integrating financial insights into clinical decision-making, the system successfully standardized care processes, reduced unnecessary variation, and improved patient outcomes.

The program identified up to $7.5 million in potential cost savings, while simultaneously driving a cultural shift that prioritizes continuous improvement, evidence-based care, and clinician accountability. This approach not only delivers financial benefits but also ensures patients receive the highest standard of safe and effective care.

Innovation: Trinity Health Corporation – Livonia, Michigan

Trinity Health was honored with the Innovation Award for its bold use of robotic process automation (RPA) to transform its procure-to-pay operations. Beginning in 2019, Trinity scaled its RPA program from just five automated processes to 22 processes, generating more than $4.6 million in savings.

The automation effort significantly reduced manual workloads tied to nearly $9 billion in payments, while improving accuracy, speed, and employee satisfaction. Operational Excellence (Acute): McLeod Health – Florence, South Carolina

McLeod Health received the Operational Excellence Award in the Acute Care category for developing an innovative item management application to address product disruptions and improve supply chain responsiveness.

This application created an automated workflow that reduced product substitution and approval times from 23 days to just 2 days, ensuring clinicians have access to essential supplies when needed. The system also improved visibility into supply chain operations and bolstered resilience during disruptions, setting a new benchmark for operational excellence in hospital settings.

Operational Excellence (Non-Acute): Duly – Downers Grove, Illinois

Duly Health and Care was recognized with the Operational Excellence Award in the Non-Acute category for launching a comprehensive implementation initiative that achieved nearly $4 million in verified savings.

This initiative involved aggressive savings optimization, robust member engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. By surpassing its own ambitious savings guarantees, Duly established itself as a leader in supply chain optimization for physician groups and non-acute providers. Its ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution demonstrates the growing importance of cost efficiency across the continuum of care.

Social Stewardship: Boston Medical Center – Boston, Massachusetts

Boston Medical Center (BMC) was recognized with the Social Stewardship Award for its long-standing commitment to sustainability and community health equity.

BMC has invested heavily in energy-efficient infrastructure, cutting its carbon emissions by an impressive 94%. In addition, the hospital supports community well-being through initiatives such as rooftop farms, a Preventive Food Pantry, and its innovative Clean Power Prescription program, which helps address food and energy insecurity in underserved populations.

Pharmacy Excellence: Cape Cod Healthcare – Hyannis, Massachusetts

Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) received the Pharmacy Excellence Award for its effective use of a specialty group purchasing organization (GPO) to optimize purchasing and reduce costs.

By adding more than 80 line items to its formulary and evaluating purchasing through contract comparisons and site-of-service analyses, CCHC is projecting substantial annual savings while also securing new rebates. These strategies, supported by HealthTrust’s pharmacy resources, have improved cash flow, cost containment, and operational efficiency—all while ensuring high-quality patient care remains uncompromised.
