GE Appliances, a leading home appliance manufacturer, has announced a significant partnership with Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast, a nonprofit dedicated to supplying lifesaving pasteurized donor human milk to premature and medically fragile babies. This collaboration aims to transform the tracking and management of milk donations, providing essential support to vulnerable infants when it is most critical.
Deborah Youngblood, CEO of Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “This initiative is a game-changer for our organization. The new system will allow us to track milk donations more efficiently, manage donor information effectively, and ultimately provide more lifesaving milk to infants in need across the country.”
Research shows that breast milk significantly reduces the risk of life-threatening diseases in fragile newborns, making donor milk an essential alternative when a mother’s milk is unavailable. However, maintaining effective communication with donors and beneficiaries while ensuring the safe and timely delivery of milk has been a challenge.
To address this need, Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast partnered with GE Appliances to implement Salesforce’s cloud-based software, aiming to enhance tracking of milk donations, streamline donor screenings, and increase the availability of milk for families.
This collaboration combines GE Appliances’ expertise in digital transformation and AI with Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast’s mission to support families. With Salesforce technology, the organizations have developed a more efficient system for tracking donations and managing donor screenings, thereby improving milk distribution.
Since partnering with GE Appliances and Salesforce, Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast has reported a 15% increase in milk production, allowing the organization to provide more milk to families and support the health of more infants.
“GE Appliances is redefining our community engagement by focusing on skills-based volunteerism to create transformational change,” said Anne Limberg, Senior Principal Digital Technology Program Manager at GE Appliances. “We formed an all-women global team with technology and project management expertise to design a customized Salesforce platform that meets the specific needs of Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast.”
Utilizing Salesforce technology, including Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Sales Cloud, as well as GE Appliances’ existing Salesforce infrastructure, staff and volunteers at Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast receive support at every stage, from collection and pasteurization to distribution.
“Salesforce is dedicated to fostering positive change through technology,” said Lori Freeman, VP and GM of Nonprofit at Salesforce. “We are excited to collaborate with GE Appliances and Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast to provide solutions that directly impact families and enhance the health of vulnerable infants.”
In addition to digital solutions, GE Appliances is providing essential cold storage units to ensure the safe preservation of donor milk for distribution.
