CurrentBody has successfully acquired Tria Beauty.
In 2003, the inventors of LightSheer™, a leading in-clinic laser hair removal technology, aimed to revolutionize at-home hair removal by creating a handheld laser that could deliver permanent results. This innovation led to the formation of Tria Beauty.
Laurence Newman, CEO of CurrentBody, which recently acquired Tria, noted, “Tria was an early pioneer in at-home laser technology and developed a remarkable skin rejuvenating laser. A quick FDA search reveals that it remains one of the only true home-use lasers on the market, making it a key target for The Beauty Tech Group.”
Newman, who also acquired California-based microcurrent experts ZIIP Beauty, expressed enthusiasm about Tria’s legacy and the positive feedback from those involved in its journey. “This marks an exciting new chapter for a well-established brand in beauty technology,” he added.
Tria Beauty now joins CurrentBody’s portfolio alongside CurrentBody Skin, known for its LED mask, and ZIIP, enhancing CurrentBody’s presence in at-home beauty tech.
