Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), a prominent healthcare enterprise dedicated to enhancing health outcomes, announced that its subsidiary, Health Net Community Solutions, has been chosen by the California Department of Health Care Services to provide managed dental care services to Medi-Cal beneficiaries in Los Angeles and Sacramento counties. The new 54-month contract is set to begin on July 1, 2025.
With a network of over 1,000 dental providers, Health Net currently serves nearly 385,000 members in these counties and approximately 2.2 million Californians overall, including more than 1.5 million Medi-Cal members. By employing a whole-person model that addresses social determinants of health, Health Net aims to reduce health disparities, improve outcomes, and enhance access to quality care across the state. This award positions Health Net as one of three managed care organizations selected to offer dental services through Medi-Cal.

Currently, Health Net is the only Medi-Cal plan in the Los Angeles and Sacramento areas that provides both medical and dental coverage.
