Carenet Health Appoints John Ozug as Chief Financial Officer to Accelerate Strategic Growth and Innovation
Carenet Health, a nationally recognized leader in technology-enabled healthcare services, today announced the appointment of John Ozug as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With more than 25 years of distinguished experience driving financial strategy and operational excellence in complex, global organizations, Ozug joins Carenet at a pivotal moment in its evolution. His appointment underscores the company’s commitment to scaling its innovative solutions, enhancing client value, and furthering its mission to power the business of healthcare through intelligent, insight-driven engagement.
Ozug brings a robust track record of delivering sustainable, profitable growth and orchestrating large-scale financial transformations across diverse industries. Most recently, he served as Group CFO for Commercial Solutions at Conduent, where he oversaw the financial operations of a $1.6 billion business process outsourcing (BPO) portfolio. In that role, he led a global finance team of more than 60 professionals, successfully aligning financial planning, analytics, and performance management with overarching business objectives. His leadership was instrumental in optimizing cost structures, improving margin performance, and enabling strategic investments that fueled long-term growth.
His deep expertise in integrating financial strategy with operational execution aligns seamlessly with Carenet Health’s vision. The company leverages advanced technology, data analytics, and clinical insights to orchestrate end-to-end patient engagement—spanning the entire healthcare continuum from initial access and acquisition through clinical care coordination and medical cost management. As healthcare systems and payers increasingly seek scalable, tech-enabled solutions to improve outcomes while controlling costs, Carenet’s platform has emerged as a critical enabler of efficiency and value.
“We are thrilled to welcome a leader of John’s caliber to our executive team,” said John Erwin, Chief Executive Officer of Carenet Health. “John’s global perspective, strategic acumen, and people-first leadership philosophy make him an ideal cultural and strategic fit for Carenet. His proven ability to drive financial discipline while fostering innovation will be invaluable as we continue to scale our operations, expand our service offerings, and deliver measurable impact for our clients. At a time when the healthcare industry demands both agility and precision, John’s leadership will help us bend the cost curve through innovation, scale, and relentless focus on outcomes.”
Ozug’s career is defined by a consistent commitment to partnership, collaboration, and results-oriented finance. Prior to his role at Conduent, he spent 14 years at Fiserv, a global leader in financial services technology, where he held a series of increasingly senior finance roles. Among his key accomplishments, Ozug led sales finance for an annual deal volume exceeding $3 billion and served as Vice President of Finance for Fiserv’s $1.6 billion Banking and Credit Union Division. In these capacities, he played a central role in M&A integration, pricing strategy, product profitability analysis, and cross-functional business planning—skills that are directly transferable to Carenet’s dynamic, client-centric model.
What sets Ozug apart is not just his technical mastery of financial systems and metrics, but his hands-on, collaborative leadership style. He believes that finance should be a strategic partner—not just a support function—and has consistently worked across departments to co-create roadmaps for growth, efficiency, and market differentiation. This philosophy resonates deeply with Carenet’s culture, which emphasizes cross-functional alignment, client success, and continuous innovation.
“I am genuinely excited to join Carenet Health at such a transformative juncture in its journey,” said John Ozug. “The company stands at the intersection of two of the most powerful forces in modern healthcare: advanced technology and deep clinical expertise. This unique combination enables Carenet to deliver solutions that don’t just manage care—but actively improve it. I’m inspired by the team’s dedication to enhancing patient engagement, driving operational efficiency, and creating tangible value for health plans, providers, and employers alike. I look forward to contributing to this mission and helping Carenet reach new heights of impact and scale.”
Carenet Health’s growth trajectory has been marked by strategic investments in digital infrastructure, data science capabilities, and clinical program design. The company’s proprietary platform integrates behavioral science, predictive analytics, and omnichannel communication to guide members through complex healthcare decisions—whether navigating insurance benefits, scheduling preventive screenings, or managing chronic conditions. These capabilities have proven especially vital in an era of rising healthcare costs, workforce shortages, and increasing consumer expectations for personalized, seamless experiences.
Ozug’s appointment comes as Carenet prepares to accelerate its expansion into new markets and service lines. With healthcare organizations under mounting pressure to do more with less, demand for Carenet’s scalable, outcomes-focused solutions continues to grow. As CFO, Ozug will play a central role in shaping the company’s capital strategy, evaluating strategic partnerships and acquisitions, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring that financial resources are aligned with high-impact initiatives.
His experience in managing global finance teams and navigating regulatory, compliance, and risk landscapes across multiple jurisdictions will also be critical as Carenet deepens its national footprint and explores international opportunities. Moreover, his background in both B2B and B2C financial models equips him to support Carenet’s diverse client base, which includes health insurers, employer groups, and healthcare delivery systems.
Internally, Ozug is expected to champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance organization. He plans to invest in talent development, modernize financial systems, and enhance data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. By embedding financial insights into every layer of the business, he aims to empower leaders at all levels to make faster, smarter choices that drive sustainable growth.
The healthcare industry is undergoing unprecedented change—driven by technological disruption, shifting consumer behaviors, and evolving policy landscapes. In this environment, companies like Carenet Health that can blend clinical credibility with digital innovation are uniquely positioned to lead. With John Ozug at the financial helm, Carenet is poised to not only navigate this complexity but to shape the future of healthcare engagement.
As Erwin noted, “John doesn’t just understand numbers—he understands people, strategy, and the art of building organizations that endure. His arrival marks a significant milestone in our journey, and we’re confident that his leadership will amplify our ability to deliver on our promise: better health outcomes, smarter spending, and a more human experience for everyone we serve.”
Carenet Health looks forward to leveraging Ozug’s visionary leadership as it enters its next chapter of growth, innovation, and impact in the ever-evolving healthcare ecosystem.
