Agiliti Unveils New Adapt Line™ of Therapeutic Support Surfaces for Enhanced Comfort and Outcomes

Agiliti, a leading provider of medical device solutions, has announced the launch of its new Adapt Line™ of therapeutic hospital support surfaces. These surfaces are clinically designed to improve patient comfort and reduce the risk of pressure injuries caused by extended bed rest. This launch marks a major milestone for Agiliti, reinforcing its position as an innovator in medical technology.

“The introduction of the Adapt Line is a significant step forward for Agiliti, positioning us as a branded leader in medical technology,” said Tom Leonard, CEO of Agiliti. “We are one of the few manufacturers offering therapeutic support surfaces supported by a comprehensive platform of device management, maintenance, and clinical service solutions. For over 80 years, Agiliti has been the nation’s top provider of accessible medical technology and services, and we are proud to expand our clinical capabilities with this new product line.”

The Adapt Line consists of three models: Adapt Air Pro™, Adapt Air™, and Adapt Convertible™, each designed to meet the needs of patients with varying acuity levels. These surfaces are equipped with proprietary immersion and alternating pressure algorithms to prevent and treat pressure injuries. A recent clinical study involving 84 critically ill patients revealed that 100% of clinicians surveyed recommended the Adapt Air Pro for its ease of use, pressure distribution management, and microclimate control.

Key features of the Adapt Line include:

  • Adapt Pump™: A quiet, easy-to-use pump compatible with all Adapt Line models, ensuring surface inflation during transport and providing up to eight levels of customizable support for improved patient outcomes.
  • Next-Gen Microclimate Management: The specially formulated AirSpace™ mesh top cover and Adapt Pump™ provide continuous, targeted airflow beneath the patient-surface interface.
  • Proprietary CoreShield™: The Adapt Convertible model features a waterproof top cover and RF-welded seams, offering superior durability, resistance to fluid ingress, and higher levels of infection prevention.
  • Capacity Expansion: The Adapt Line offers customizable options to extend length, width, and weight capacity, utilizing patented technology to transform the surface from 35 to 48 inches wide, from 82 to 86 inches long, and supporting up to 1,000 lbs.
  • Vertical Cell Technology: The Adapt Air Pro model incorporates twenty 8-inch air cells with vertical cell technology for enhanced immersion, providing 37% more immersion compared to similar 6-inch surfaces.

“Each year, nearly 3 million U.S. patients are treated for pressure injuries, costing hospitals over $17.8 billion,” said Tim McCarty, General Manager of Beds and Therapeutic Support Surfaces at Agiliti. “The right support surface is crucial for both preventing and healing pressure injuries, and the Adapt Line’s features are proven to help achieve both.”

In addition to its line of therapeutic support surfaces, Agiliti provides rapid access, management, and maintenance of critical medical equipment across various healthcare settings. These solutions help improve patient care and enhance efficiency within healthcare networks.
