Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) has unveiled its next-generation Agilent InfinityLab LC Series, featuring the 1290 Infinity III LC, 1260 Infinity III Prime LC, and 1260 Infinity III LC systems, all available in biocompatible versions. These systems are the first in the market to incorporate Agilent InfinityLab Assist Technology, which provides advanced built-in assistance. This innovation enables labs to concentrate more on obtaining results and less on routine operation and maintenance tasks.
Agilent is transforming the liquid chromatography (LC) user experience with its new LC systems, which enhance task automation, connectivity, predictive feedback, and error reduction. Featuring built-in sample tracking using barcoding and camera technologies, these systems eliminate sample mix-ups, ensuring greater accuracy and user confidence.
The InfinityLab Assist technology is designed to enhance the capabilities of these LC systems for users of all skill levels. It automates instrument routines, simplifies sample preparation, aids in maintenance and troubleshooting, and provides context-sensitive help and solvent management guidance. This innovation reduces repetitive manual tasks, streamlines training, and delivers robust insights, enhancing overall confidence in results.
“Analytical lab managers are under pressure to optimize efficiency without compromising quality,” said Sudharshana Seshadri, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, and Automation divisions. “With InfinityLab Assist, our customers can significantly cut down on training and troubleshooting time while automating daily routines and health notifications.” Agilent continues to offer modularity and upgradeability to support its existing customer base, ensuring protection of current investments as new features roll out.
The Infinity III LC Series is compatible with earlier LC systems and integrates seamlessly with chromatography data systems (CDS). They are verified by My Green Lab’s ACT 2.0 Ecolabel, reflecting Agilent’s commitment to sustainability, and will be the first LC systems to provide their CO2 footprint to customers. Importantly, all new features will also be available as upgrades for the existing Infinity II LC Series.
“Together, the Infinity III LC Series sets a new standard in liquid chromatography,” said Philip Binns, president of Agilent’s Life Sciences and Applied Markets group. “Agilent is dedicated to exceeding user expectations with intelligent instrumentation that simplifies operations and boosts productivity. Today’s launch marks a major milestone in our continuous innovation journey.”
The Agilent Infinity III LC Series will be launched globally in October, including at HPLC 2024 in Dalian, China, AAPS 2024 PharmSci 360 in the U.S., and the 23rd Human Proteome Organization World Congress (HUPO) in Germany. This release reinforces Agilent’s position as a leader in innovative analytical solutions, enhancing the laboratory experience and increasing return-on-investment opportunities.
