Advanced eClinical Training (ACT), a top provider of online career certification, has joined forces with the SEIU-UHW West & Joint Employer Education Fund (The Education Fund), which offers employer-funded education, training, and career support for union members in healthcare. This collaboration aims to broaden access to short-term Allied Health training programs, enabling eligible healthcare workers to earn certifications for high-demand positions such as Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, and Sterile Processing Technician.
“Partnering with The Education Fund enables us to make a significant difference in the careers of thousands of healthcare professionals,” said Shabnam Safarzadeh, President and CEO of ACT. “Together, we’re creating pathways for healthcare workers to advance their skills, boost their earning potential, and address critical gaps in the healthcare workforce.”
This collaboration will provide over 100,000 eligible union members with access to ACT’s short-term, online, and blended learning programs. These programs are designed to quickly equip workers with the certifications needed for high-demand roles in as little as 3-6 months, preparing them for lucrative careers in healthcare.
Supporting Career Advancement in Allied Health
The Education Fund, supported by employer contributions, offers healthcare union members free education and training services. Programs are available to help members transition into new roles, gain continuing education units (CEUs), or advance their careers. Nearly 70% of The Education Fund’s learners are people of color, and 80% are women, reflecting a commitment to equity and inclusion.
“We’re excited to work with ACT to provide our members with new career advancement opportunities,” said The Education Fund’s Director of Strategic Partnerships. “Our partnership supports our mission to deliver innovative training solutions tailored to our diverse healthcare workforce, equipping them with the skills needed to excel in today’s healthcare environment.”
Expanding Access to Critical Allied Health Training
ACT’s training courses prepare students for sought-after national certifications in healthcare. With over 1,000 organizations, including CVS Pharmacy, DaVita Dialysis, Concentra Clinics, and the American Red Cross, hiring ACT graduates or offering training and employment opportunities, this partnership further enhances access to career-transforming programs for healthcare workers nationwide.
