Oneview Healthcare has launched Ovie, a transformative GenAI-powered Care Assistant designed to streamline communication and reduce interruptions for nurses, all while providing personalized support for patients and their families during their hospital stay. By integrating with the hospital’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and other clinical tools, Ovie serves as a secure voice assistant that responds to a wide range of patient queries in real-time.

Ovie addresses common questions and concerns that patients or family members may have, such as “Hey Ovie, when can I go home?” or “Hey Ovie, what are the side effects of my medication?” This reduces the need for patients to wait for a nurse or staff member to provide answers, thereby decreasing unnecessary interruptions and allowing nurses to focus on delivering hands-on care.

One of Ovie’s standout features is its ability to provide context-sensitive, personalized responses. Since it is seamlessly integrated with EHRs and hospital systems, Ovie has access to a patient’s specific data, such as medical history, treatment plans, and current medications. This means that it can offer accurate and relevant information tailored to the individual’s needs. Furthermore, for patients and families with limited English proficiency, Ovie can respond in their preferred language, significantly improving accessibility and engagement during their hospital stay.

Ovie also incorporates a robust system for escalating requests when more assistance is required.
