Hospital Unveils Promising Plans for a State-of-the-Art 50-Bed Rehabilitation Facility in Bangor
Encompass Health Corp. (NYSE: EHC) has unveiled plans to construct a new 50-bed, freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Bangor, Maine, aimed at providing specialized care for patients recovering from severe medical conditions. The facility will be located at 1017 Union Street and is currently in the planning stages. Once completed, it will enhance access to advanced rehabilitation services for the local community and surrounding areas.
This new hospital will focus on treating patients who are recovering from debilitating conditions such as strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic disorders. The goal is to provide a comprehensive range of rehabilitation services designed to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. The facility will offer 24-hour nursing care, alongside physical, occupational, and speech therapies, all delivered by a highly trained team of nurses, therapists, and physicians.
Each patient’s care plan will be individualized, addressing their unique rehabilitation needs and focusing on restoring functional abilities. The hospital will feature private patient rooms, a spacious therapy gym, and an activities of daily living (ADL) suite. These specialized areas will allow patients to practice real-world tasks critical to their daily routines, fostering independence and enhancing their ability to navigate day-to-day activities after their conditions.
Additional amenities at the facility will include an in-house dialysis suite, a dining room, pharmacy services, and a therapy courtyard. These features are designed not only to meet the medical needs of patients but also to create a comfortable and supportive environment that promotes recovery. The goal is to ensure that every aspect of the patient experience contributes to their healing journey.
