Uno Health, a service aimed at increasing access to benefits and savings for lower-income Americans, has launched the Uno Savings Guide. This free tool helps individuals of all ages, including Medicare and Medicaid recipients, by determining eligibility for financial benefit programs. It offers a personalized guide to estimate potential savings and streamlines the application process.
Uno Health, a service designed to help lower-income Americans access financial benefits and savings, has launched the Uno Savings Guide to support those struggling with rising costs. With 38 million Americans living on less than $15,000 annually, accessing state and federal assistance programs is crucial for meeting basic needs like rent, food, medicine, and healthcare. For Uno’s members, these programs average $4,500 in savings per year. This tool becomes even more vital in light of impending Medicare cuts and possible Medicaid reductions in 2025.
The Uno Savings Guide simplifies the often complex process of identifying and applying for financial assistance. The guide starts by asking users a set of questions that take just 30 seconds to answer. It then instantly informs users about which income-based programs they are likely eligible for, including Medicaid, Medicare Savings Programs, SNAP (food stamps), utility assistance, prescription aid, and phone assistance. Users also receive an estimate of how much they could save. The guide includes direct links to application forms and provides personalized tips to help users successfully navigate the enrollment process, drawing from Uno’s extensive experience assisting thousands of members with state and federal benefits.
“As Medicare benefits are reduced and policy uncertainty looms, this tool ensures people access every bit of assistance they are entitled to,” said Anna de Paula Hanika, Uno Health’s founder and CEO. “By simplifying a complicated process, we help people afford both their daily expenses and healthcare. No one should have to choose between buying groceries and medicine, yet many lower-income Americans face that impossible decision every day. The situation will worsen as healthcare and living costs continue to rise.”
In addition to making healthcare and daily necessities more affordable, the Uno Savings Guide aims to address the significant gap between the number of people eligible for public assistance and those actually enrolled. Each year, billions of dollars in benefits go unused, as 50% to 70% of eligible individuals do not apply for the programs.
The Uno Savings Guide is currently available in New York, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Missouri, with plans for expansion to states like New Jersey, California, Minnesota, and Oregon. The tool is available in both English and Spanish.
Uno’s technology simplifies the application process by streamlining the required documentation for all eligible programs and reducing the amount of information needed from beneficiaries. It also automatically extracts data from documents, minimizing requests for additional information.
With the public release of the Uno Savings Guide, Uno Health aims to help more Americans enroll in critical programs, addressing economic uncertainty and rising healthcare costs. As the company continues to expand its reach, it remains committed to making healthcare coverage more affordable and accessible to those who need it most.
