SoundHound AI Partners with MUSC Health to Enhance Patient Access with AI

SoundHound AI, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOUN), a leader in voice artificial intelligence, announced that MUSC Health has launched an AI agent named Emily, powered by the Amelia Patient Engagement solution, to improve patient access and service. Emily, available 24/7, helps patients manage appointments and answers non-clinical questions through integration with Epic, a leading healthcare software platform. SoundHound AI recently acquired Amelia.

Emily aims to boost patient satisfaction and operational efficiency at MUSC Health’s patient access center. Crystal Broj, Enterprise Chief Digital Transformation Officer at MUSC Health, emphasized that the AI agent is already positively impacting patient access by reducing call volumes and wait times.

The Amelia Patient Engagement solution, now part of SoundHound AI’s offerings, uses advanced conversational and generative AI to automate tasks such as scheduling appointments, patient check-in, payments, and more. These AI agents are HIPAA-compliant and can be accessed through voice or chat-based channels, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability for healthcare organizations.
