Health Net, a prominent Medi-Cal managed care health plan in California and part of Centene Corporation, announced today its recognition as one of “America’s Greatest Workplaces for LGBTQ+ 2024” by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group. This accolade follows a survey involving more than 29,000 LGBTQ+ employees and over 205,000 company reviews.
Brian Ternan, President and CEO of Health Net, expressed, “At Health Net, we value diversity as essential to serving our over 3 million members. This recognition underscores our unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring all our employees feel safe, respected, and supported.”
Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief of Newsweek, highlighted the importance of inclusivity in fostering innovation and growth, stating, “Recognizing companies that cultivate inclusive cultures for employees of all sexual orientations and gender identities is crucial. Newsweek, in partnership with Plant-A, celebrates those making significant strides in creating such environments.”
Inclusive workplaces not only boost creativity, morale, and productivity but also benefit from the unique perspectives and contributions of LGBTQ+ employees. This acknowledgment by Newsweek adds to Health Net’s previous recognitions, including being named in Newsweek’s “America’s Greatest Workplaces 2023 for Diversity” and ranking as the top health insurance plan provider for customer service for two consecutive years.
