A prominent healthcare enterprise dedicated to enhancing individuals’ well-being, announced today that the Kansas Department of Administration has chosen its subsidiary, Sunflower Health Plan (Sunflower), based in Kansas, to continue providing managed health care services under KanCare, the State of Kansas’ Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The new three-year contract is set to commence on January 1, 2025, with the possibility of extension for up to two additional 12-month periods.
Currently serving over 141,000 Kansans statewide, including more than 7,900 Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) members, Sunflower employs a distinctive coordinated care approach. This model fosters health equity, delivers person-centered care, enhances access to services and providers, and drives improved outcomes for members and communities throughout the state. With this selection, Sunflower joins two other Medicaid managed care organizations chosen to provide services through KanCare.
